Recently we wrote about our investment in the Psyon Psychedelic Clinic in Prague and in the Wavepaths project in London, and today we want to share information about the third addition to our portfolio that relates to mental health – Terap.io, an online therapy platform aimed at improving mental wellbeing. We have also decided to further support mental health with the Miton Psychonauts investment fund, into which we have set aside tens of millions of Czech crowns.

Why our interest in mental health? Although in Western society we are doing well materially, we are not doing so well at the level of the individual. And yet, it is no hyperbole to state that mental wellbeing is decisive for the future of humanity. How we feel determines the way we live. It shapes the relationships we create and the way we treat our surroundings and the natural environment.
Miton Psychonauts' latest investment is Terap.io, an initiative that aims to make psychotherapy more accessible. Terap.io technologies remove barriers that prevent people from accessing therapy, such as the complexity of choosing the right therapist, geographical and financial obstacles, as well as the stigma that many attach to the need for therapy.
“According to research, online therapy can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy, and you can choose from a wider range of professionals than when you have to consider distance. Online therapy is also easier to access without your family and friends knowing about it, and it is the fear of 'what people will say' that prevents many of us from finding a therapist,” explain Terap.io’s founders Jan Sasínek, Olga Kunertová and Chádí El-Moussawi (pictured from the left).

(press release) A startup founded by Johanna von der Leyen and Marek Miltner at Stanford is changing the way companies and public institutions work with geospatial data. Instead of needing to hire a team of GIS experts, PangeAI agents allow making complex analyses and decisions involving physical infrastructure as easy as typing a prompt. The goal is to make the physical world as searchable and understandable as the digital one.
(press release) Even though companies know very well that AI can significantly increase their efficiency, most never get further than paying for ChatGPT accounts for their employees. It’s not motivation they lack - most fail in the implementation phase. The problem lies in the approach companies take: they treat AI as if it were traditional software. And this is exactly where Bandits comes in, a new project by Jiří Štěpánek, Kryštof Mitka and Miton.
The guests of the Miton AI Times event were Tomáš Gogár (co-founder and CEO of Rossum) and Martin Schmid (co-founder and CEO of Equilibre), who joined to discuss the challenges of building an AI startup.
