How big is the fashion market? Our answer has always been “big enough”. Fashion is the largest e-commerce sector and it continues to grow at a fast pace. The team behind GLAMI knew that if they could provide a place that would serve as an inspirational gateway into the world of fashion, they would greatly influence the online fashion market. This proposition has proven to be true in every country that GLAMI has entered, quickly becoming an important source of customers for local and global fashion retailers.

Back to the opening question, the global fashion market is valued at 3 trillion US Dollars and moving into online retail is currently one of the most fundamental business propositions facing most big brands.

GLAMI’s mission is to help shoppers easily find fashion items they will truly love. It may seem trivial, but it’s a big challenge. New labels are constantly flooding the vast fashion landscape, retailers are moving online, and purchases from abroad are becoming more and more common.

To make online clothes shopping a pleasant experience, rather than a frustrating chore, the entire process must be made as simple as possible. GLAMI has a database of millions of fashion items across its many partner retailers, but it presents individual customers with only those pieces that meet their tastes and needs – be they size, cut, material or ethical considerations.

Advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning are opening up new possibilities for GLAMI. Thanks to latest technologies, GLAMI is able to expand to new countries and to offer customers an ever-growing array of choice, all the while maintaining a high degree of personalisation. The challenge for the coming years is to incorporate more machine learning and to deploy cutting-edge visual and ranking techniques specifically for the fashion industry.

GLAMI is led by Tomáš Hodboď, who has learnt – partly through his experience of building Heureka – how to take a huge volume of data and transform it into a perfect customer experience. You’ll find GLAMI’s diverse international team at the company’s modern offices in Prague’s Karlín neighbourhood.
